The Ultimate Green Smoothie Recipe to Promote Gut Health

Well hello beautiful — If you’re looking for an antioxidant, anti-inflammation, PCOS friendly, power punch of a green smoothie for your mornings, look no further!

I am not a morning person. It takes a lot to get me going in the morning, and on top of that, I’m not a huge fan of eating breakfast. I wanted a green smoothie that would taste good, but give me everything I would need to get my motor running (and be super healthy)! I can actually tell a difference in my productivity when I haven’t had my green smoothie in the morning.

Feel free to tweak this smoothie to whatever fits your needs and lifestyle. I have added multiple supplements and ingredients for specific reasons, so go nuts!

Some of the benefits of each ingredient in the green smoothie are:

  • Spinach is a cancer-fighting food, and it’s a great source of iron
  • Bananas for potassium and they’re great for the heart
  • PB Fit is my go-to because it has 87% less fat and a third of the calories of regular peanut butter
  • Cacao powder provides a chocolatey taste, but it has SO many great benefits, including aiding in heart and gut health, reducing tiredness, and stress relief
  • Almond milk is what I use as a base, and it’s better for you than regular milk
  • Honey is for sweetness since I use a lot of powder and bitter tasting ingredients — I love turmeric honey because turmeric is especially great to combat inflammation
  • Hemp protein powder is loaded with essential fatty acids and helps with weight loss, reduced blood pressure and more
  • Collagen peptides aid in reversing aging, easing joint pain, and building up the connective tissue in the body that you lose as you get older
  • Iodine drops (like these) are something I add for its thyroid benefits, but it’s also good for memory and overall brain function
